Success in Science Fair

Example:

The moment the first whistle blew, the energy was electric. You could hear the Portia Primary supporters from across the field, waving banners and shouting encouragement. And our team? They gave it everything they had.

Some of the standout moments:

  • In the 100m Boys U13, Michael Jacobs exploded out of the blocks and stormed his way to 1st place with an impressive 11.8 seconds.
  • Sarah Daniels gave us a nail-biting finish in the 200m Girls U13, missing first by just 0.2 seconds and grabbing silver.
  • David Nkosi absolutely flew in the Long Jump Boys U13, hitting a personal best of 6.1m and taking home gold.
  • And our Girls U13 4x100m relay team? Flawless baton changes, lightning speed — and yes, another gold medal for the shelf.

By the end of the day, we had racked up enough points to finish 2nd overall out of six schools. That’s no small feat, especially considering the tough competition we were up against.

But beyond the medals and results, what really stood out was the team spirit. Every race had a crowd of our learners at the fence, cheering at the top of their lungs. Every win was celebrated like a championship, and even the tough losses were met with encouragement and high-fives.

What’s next for Portia Primary?
We’re not slowing down — the Inter-School Netball Tournament is on 16 August, and the Soccer League match against Riverdale High kicks off on 20 August.

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it. Well done, Portians — you made our school shine!
